Team Error402, comprising four young developers from Banque de Luxembourg, has won the open source challenge at the fourth edition of the Game of Code hackathon, which the Bank entered for the first time.
The Game of Code hackathon is a 24-hour coding challenge organised by Farvest, Docler Holding, Digital Luxembourg, the National Library of Luxembourg, SES Satellites and GovSat. More than 150 developers and designers from Luxembourg were pitted against each other during the challenge held on 8 and 9 March to prove they were among the best developers in the country.
Victory at the first entry
This was the first time Banque de Luxembourg had entered the Game of Code with its "Error 402” team, composed of four talented young developers: Felix Hemmerling, Anthony Onfray, Antoine Diliberto and Nicolas Galmiche.
The team won the open source challenge devised by Digital Luxembourg and the National Library of Luxembourg that involved taking raw data available on the open data portal and building new applications or tools aimed at exploring, understanding, analysing or enriching historical events.
The research tool designed by the team and singled out by the panel of judges is called LibQuery. It is a machine learning tool that conducts historical research in a fun, user-friendly way.
Many congratulations to our team for their fantastic performance and we wish them all the best for their next coding challenge!
